We are also introducing a new tiered affiliate system. Let’s take a closer look at how each tier is reached:

Referral Tier - 100% Monthly One Time Payment, 20% Annual One Time Payment on each sale. Affiliates will advance to tier 1 after a sale is made to 2 separate customers.

Affiliate Tier 1 - 20% On annual subscription sales for each subscription. Affiliates will advance to tier 2 with over $1,000 generated in total sales in the previous 12 months.

Affiliate Tier 2 - 30% On annual subscription sales for each subscription. Affiliates will advance to tier 3 with over $10,000 generated in total sales in the previous 12 months.

Affiliate Tier 3 - 40% in annual subscription sales for each subscription.

If you head to your Kartra dashboard, click on Affiliate Promos. Click on a product, and you will see what tier you are on from the Affiliate Commission percentage.

You were placed on the tier based on the total amount of sales (revenue) that you brought in over the past 12 months. Therefore, if you:

• Brought in less than 2 sales to 2 separate customers = Referral Tier 
• Made 2 sales to 2 separate customers, but have earned less than $1,000 in total revenue = Affiliate Tier 1
• Made 2 sales to 2 separate customers, but have earned less than $10,000 in total revenue = Affiliate Tier 2
• Made 2 sales to 2 separate customers and have earned over $10,000 in total revenue = Tier 3

When a new customer purchases a subscription using your Affiliate link, you are tied to this subscription for as long as the subscription is active. It is classed as a sale when a full-price transaction has taken place. Therefore, if a customer purchases a 30-day trial, this will only be classed as a sale in your account when that 30-day trial rebills for the full price and then passes the 45-day hold period.

To log in to your Kartra affiliate account you need to navigate to https://app.kartra.com/affiliate/products. Then enter the email/username and password associated with your affiliate account.

Can't log in? Here are some common issues that may have occurred: 

1. If you’re using the login screen you will need to enter your email address or username (aka your “domain nickname”). If your email address isn’t working, try your username instead.
2. If you’re copying and pasting your password, make sure you haven’t copied extra spaces at the beginning or end of the string of text. 
3. If you’re typing your password, make sure all the characters are accurate. It’s very common to mistake a lowercase “L” with an uppercase “i” or a “zero” for the letter “O”.
4. If you didn’t select a username (domain nickname) after checkout or were unable to complete your account setup, please submit a helpdesk ticket and select “Billing” as the department. 

If you’re having difficulty logging in or you can’t remember your password you can reset it. 

1. Go to the login screen found here [app.kartra.com/login].
2. Click the Forgot Password link at the bottom. 
3. You’ll see a pop-up prompting you for your username. Enter your username (not your email), and click Reset Password. You’ll then receive a reset password email. 

Note: The email should be in your inbox within a few minutes. If you don’t see it please check your spam and/or promotion folders. 

Once you click the reset password link in the email, you’ll be given a temporary password. Next, please do the following:

1. Copy the password (you’ll need this later!) and click the “Proceed to Login” button. 
2. Log in to your account using the temporary password
   1. To change the temporary password:
      1. Click "Change.”
      2. Enter the temporary password, your new password, and your security answer.
      3. Click on the pencil edit button next to the password. 
      4. Navigate to “My Profile.”

If you have difficulty, please do not attempt to log in multiple times. Submit a helpdesk ticket using your account email with the following information so we can further assist you:

1. Your Account Email/Username
2. The device(s), browser(s), and operating system(s) you’re using.
3. A video of what you’re seeing/doing when you try to log in. For screen shares, we recommend using tools Techsmith Capture or Loom. They allow you to copy and paste the URL into your message so you can send as many attachments as you need and there’s no chance of  losing one while sending.

Want to change your email? No problem! 

You can easily update the email address associated with your Kartra affiliate account. Your email can be changed by doing the following:

1. Log in to your affiliate account: https://app.kartra.com/affiliate/products 
2. Click on your avatar image in the top-right corner of your account, then click on Profile
3. Edit the Email field then click Save in the top-right corner 
4. You’ll then be prompted to provide the answer to your security question

We’re excited  about your interest in our affiliate program!  Applying for the program is  simple:  

1. Go to: https://home.kartra.com/partners
2. Click on the AFFILIATE SIGN UP button. 
3. Read the terms then click the I ACCEPT button at the very bottom. 
4. When it asks "Do you have an account yet?" - Click the FREE SIGN UP button option 
   • Note: If you already have a Kartra account, simply log in. 
5. Fill in your information. 
   • Note: Many email addresses allow for "aliases'' which can help in this scenario. For instance, in Gmail and G Suite email addresses, you can add a + to the username, so example@gmail.com can also be example+affiliate@gmail.com. Google sees this as the same email, but Kartra will see this as two unique emails. 
   • Make sure you also choose a username that you like as you cannot change this later. 
   • Please choose and remember your secret question and answer. 
6. After creating your account, please answer the application questions fully and truthfully. 
   • Note: This is vital in our acceptance process!
7. Please allow 1-3 business days for a decision on your application.

Oh no, we hope this is a “see you later” type of situation rather than a “bye forever” one!

If you’d like to cancel your Kartra subscription while being an active affiliate, you’ll need to determine if you have any sales within your account. The sales will determine whether or not your access will be closed upon cancellation of your Kartra subscription.

If you decide to cancel and DO NOT have any sales within your affiliate account, there are two important things to consider:

• If you decide to cancel your Kartra subscription, you’ll lose access to that Kartra account IF you do NOT have ANY sales from the affiliate programs you’re currently active in.  Your account is considered "inactive" and the account access is closed when you cancel your current Kartra subscription. 
• If you do NOT have sales in the affiliate programs and you want to cancel your Kartra subscription, but you want to remain in the current affiliate programs, you’ll have to create a new Kartra login with a different email address and re-apply to those affiliate programs. 

If you decide to cancel and you DO have sales, please follow the instructions below:

• If you DO have previous sales in the affiliate programs you are currently active in, and you choose to cancel your Kartra subscription, your subscription will be canceled. You will still have access to your account because you’ve made previous sales as an affiliate. 

This depends on how you choose to structure your Agency clients. There are two ways to look at this:

1. Sub-accounts
   • If you choose to own the client account yourself you won’t get an affiliate payment, but you will get a discount. You set the price for your client and bill the client separately, earning you more money than an affiliate commission. 
2. Regular Kartra accounts
   • On the other hand, if you choose to have the client own their account and handle billing themselves, then yes, you can earn an affiliate commission as long as you give them your affiliate link to purchase Kartra with.

When setting up a client account inside your Agency you need to import them as an independent account, instead of as an account that you own. The only downside to moving existing clients that already have Kartra is you won’t get an affiliate commission or monthly discount for owning the account unless you were previously an affiliate on the account when they signed up.

As an affiliate, you are able to earn Commissions on each sale you make for our products! Commissions range from 10 -100%. You can also earn 10% on each sale from each affiliate you bring in through your JV Link!

To get your affiliate link log into your affiliate account. 

Once logged in to your affiliate account do the following:

1. In the left navigation bar click Affiliate Promos
2. On the top navigation bar click Promotions 
3. On the top navigation drop-down click Promotions

1. Select the product either by clicking on the product’s icon or choosing from the drop-down menu on the far right-hand side.
   1. Note: If you don't see the product listed, your application may still be pending.
      
      
2. ​Click on the MY LINK icon under the drop-down menu on the far right-hand side.
   
   
3. Click on Your Affiliate Link and copy it.
   
   

ProTip: Most people use the “Kartra Starter 14-day Trial” link as their main link. Don’t worry if your lead purchases a different package - you will still receive credit for any package they choose!

The reason for this is because we get a LOT of questions asking what link should be used.

Your affiliate link is your "all-purpose link". That is the main link that you should use to promote. That link will track all clicks and sales associated with it. When promoting, be sure to use your raw affiliate link without using masking links as it could potentially strip your affiliate link's cookie and render the click useless resulting in an inability to track any clicks/sales.
 
Tracking links are essentially a duplicate affiliate link. However, that link will have a specific purpose. For example, if you want to place your affiliate link on your blog and Facebook you would create 2 tracking links for your affiliate link inside Kartra. The first tracking link will tell you how many clicks/sales came from your blog, the other will tell you how many clicks/sales came from Facebook. That way, you'll have better analytics and see where you should focus more energy for higher returns. But, just like your affiliate links, if you use any 3rd party tracking links or masking links it could potentially strip the tracking link's cookie. Therefore, we suggest that you test your links carefully before using them.

The Affiliate pay schedule runs on a monthly basis. All of our Affiliates are reviewed manually, which means timings can differ from month to month. However, that being said, we aim to get all of our qualifying Affiliates paid between the 15th and the 20th of every month, or as close to those dates as possible.

Below is a brief example of how this works: 

If two sales are made: 

• One sale on January 3^rd that nets you $80 and one sale on January 17^th that nets you an additional $80. 
• Those sales need 45 days to clear the refund and hold period before you can be paid for those sales. 
• Therefore, the first sale would become valid on February 17^th and the second on March 1st.
• Therefore, you would be paid the February commission in the March payout and you would be paid the March 1 commission in the April Payout.

Note: there is a waiting period after a sale is made and when you will be paid and all conditions must be met prior to the payment date. For example, if a sale is made today, this payment would be paid out on the next payment cycle following the 45 day post-trial and refund period.. 

As a reminder, there are certain criteria that must be met before you are paid for your sales. Those are as follows:

Earned commissions (“Commissions Due”) shall be paid to Affiliate monthly for commissions earned before the end of the prior month, provided: 

1. The refund period on the sales for which the commission applies has passed (currently 30 days after the first full billing occurs);
2. Genesis Digital has received any funds due and owing from the relevant customer(s) for the current period(45 days);
3. Affiliate has their tax information successfully filled out in their Kartra account.
4. Affiliate has their PayPal payment information successfully filled out and linked in their Kartra account.

Please note that there are certain conditions that must be met before an affiliate is paid. The conditions are as follows:

1. Earned commissions (“Commissions Due”) shall be paid to affiliate monthly for commissions earned before the end of the prior month, provided: 
   1. Genesis Digital has received any funds due and owing from the relevant customer(s) for the current period(45 days) and, 
   2. Affiliate has their tax information successfully filled out in their Kartra account.
2. A Paypal business account connected to your affiliate account. To get started with your business PayPal account, go here. 
3. Tax information is filled out in full in your affiliate account. 

You’ll need a PayPal business account in order to be paid. To get started with your PayPal business account go here:  https://www.paypal.com/business
 
Once you’ve set up your Paypal business account you’ll need to set this up in your Kartra account as your preferred payment method. 
 
To do this:

1. Navigate to your account PAYMENT SETTINGS: https://app.kartra.com/affiliate/payment_settings/
2. Under Payment Method - Click  the CHANGE button on the far right-hand side. 
3. Click on the PayPal icon. 
4. Click the Connect PayPal button. 
5. Follow the steps to connect your PayPal address to your Kartra account. 
6. Once successful, under WHAT'S YOUR PREFERRED PAYMENT METHOD? Choose PayPal. 

 
While there are other payment options available, we only pay affiliates on the 15th of the month via their PayPal business account. Currently, we do not pay affiliates via other methods.

Looking to update the tax information in your account? To fill out your W9 or W-8BEN, please follow these easy steps:   

1. Log-in to your affiliate account - https://app.kartra.com/affiliate/payment_settings/
2. Click on AFFILIATE PROMOS on the bottom left-hand side of the page.  
3. Click on PAYMENTS at the top of the page.  
4. Click on PAYMENT SETTINGS.  
5. While in Payment Settings, under Tax Documentation, click the CHANGE button.  
6. Choose your Citizenship Status in the drop-down menu then click on the button to fill out the W9 or W-8BEN.  
7. Fill out the form with accurate up-to-date information and sign at the bottom to save the document.
   
   If you run a business and don’t have all the relevant information required, please fill in the form with the information you do have.

Please note: Genesis Digital cannot provide tax advice or further information on filling out the W9 or W-8BEN forms. If you have  questions please speak with a certified tax specialist in your area.

There are several reasons why someone else would get credited for a sale:

• Affiliate links work as follows. The last click on the link is the affiliate who gets the sale. Your customer may have clicked on your link, then on another affiliate's link, resulting in that affiliate getting the sale. Their link was the last link to be clicked before the customer made a purchase.
• The customer clicked on another affiliate's link through an ad, YouTube, or a blog post sometime before purchasing their subscription. Our affiliate links carry a 30-day cookie that attaches to the leads browser.
• The customer may have clicked on your link from another browser, but purchased using a different browser. Your affiliate link's cookie will not transfer to other browsers.
• When promoting, we highly recommend only using your raw affiliate link. Using masking links or tracking links could potentially strip your link's cookie. Be sure to test links thoroughly if you need to use masking or tracking links.

In the best interest of our customers, we want to ensure they’re happy to use our products and are correctly tied to the affiliate of their choice. Our policy is for customers to personally verify which affiliate they would like to be associated with if there’s a discrepancy. By doing that we eliminate any confusion regarding who they’d like to give credit to for subscribing to any of our products. Customers should direct emails to jv@genesisdigital.co within the first 30 days of their subscription.

Unfortunately, there will be NO commission payments paid on PERSONAL USE sales of the product(s). 
 
This directly violates the Affiliate Terms and Conditions under Compensation: 
 
“A Qualified Action herein does not include any action (i) using the affiliates own link to purchase the product for their personal use.”  

Repeated actions or deliberate actions to circumvent detection may result in a dismissal from the affiliate program.

There are multiple reasons why an application to become an affiliate may be denied acceptance.  Many of these issue can be easily fixed.

We recommend you take a look at the common reasons for affiliate program denials (listed below). We encourage you to make updates and reapply when ready. 

1. Fill out your application in full
   • Include social media link(s)
   • Include website link(s) 
2. Information on your application must be  true and accurate.
3. Information on your application must be detailed and represent you
4. Your website must be professional and organized.

The money shown in the reserve column is earned commissions that have not yet cleared payout. As the milestones go by, these credits will be moved to the "Due" column as funds that have not yet been received from the customer or their payment processor. Those funds are only paid out when we receive payment.

We strongly recommend only using your raw affiliate link when promoting. Using masking links or 3rd party tracking links could potentially remove or block your affiliate link's cookie. 

When your affiliate link's cookie is removed or blocked your link will not register any clicks or sales. Therefore, if you must use masking links or 3rd party tracking links, we strongly recommend thoroughly testing before deploying.

Looking for your JV information? You can find the JV affiliates that have signed up through your JV link by following these steps: 

1. Go to https://app.kartra.com/affiliate/jv_analytics 
2. Click on the icon for the product you want to get analytics for.
3. Click on the SHOW AFFILIATES tab 
4. You're now able to see all of your JV affiliates underneath you. You can see their name, email address, and details about the sales/clicks they've made along with your net commissions from them.
